Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for arthritis

Arthritis Management – NSAID
Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs are indicated for the control of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis along with many other things.
There are a few different types and can come in tablet, capsule or liquid forms.

They start working against the pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in your dog within hours of the first dose. It works to control pain and inflammation at the source – by inhibiting an enzyme that helps produce substances that are primarily responsible for inflammation and pain.

These are prescription drugs and can only be prescribed by a trip in to see us with your pet. All pets undergo a thorough physical examination and background history check before the initiation of NSAID therapy.
With older or sick animals we would do a blood test first to ensure this is the best course of action for them.
They will require regular check ups for on going treatment.
